The Community League Vision is, “To create a safe, supportive, healthy and diverse community for all. We will strive to represent the growing and evolving needs of our neighbours and their families.”
South Edmonton Cares and the Summerside Community League have joined together with several local businesses to support the Edmonton Food Bank.
Donate online: South Edmonton Cares Food Bank Drive
When? December 4 to 10, 2016
Goal: Collect 10,000 items of food and raise $10,000 for the Edmonton Food Bank.
The Food Bank experienced some increased challenges this year. Bad weather during Heritage Days, their largest food collection event, meant significantly lower donations than normal. There is also increased need in Edmonton comes from those recovering from the fire disaster in Fort McMurray and because of job loss created by the significant downturn in the Alberta economy.
